Aaron Cheng, O.D. obtained his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Missouri, St. Louis College of Optometry, in 2023. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from the University of Kansas.
Dr. Cheng has specialized expertise in various areas, including contact lenses, pediatric eye health, myopia management, and ocular disease. His decision to pursue a career in optometry stemmed from witnessing firsthand the transformative effects of quality eyecare on individuals’ lives and the significant enhancement it brings to their overall quality of life. Dr. Cheng is fluent in English, Spanish, and Mandarin to further enhance his ability to provide comprehensive care.
When Dr. Cheng is not diligently attending to patients’ needs, he finds joy in engaging in outdoor activities, such as running or spending leisure time on the golf course. He is always excited to spend quality time with his beloved Golden Retriever, Dex.
Originally from Hoisington, Kansas, Dr. Pierce graduated Summa Cum Laude from Emporia State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2004. She then attended the Southern College of Optometry (SCO) in Memphis, TN. While at SCO, Dr. Pierce completed various externships, gaining valuable clinical experience in primary care optometry, contact lens fitting, and ocular disease. Dr. Pierce graduated from SCO in 2008 with highest honors and was valedictorian of her class.
Dr. Pierce is a member of the Kansas Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, and the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society. She is also the recipient of numerous awards, including the SCO Outstanding Clinician Award and the VSP Award of Excellence. She is currently licensed to practice in both Kansas and Missouri. Dr. Pierce has been an optometrist with Overland Park Eye Center since 2008. She strives to provide thorough, comprehensive eye care in a family-friendly setting. She values a strong doctor-patient relationship and places emphasis on the importance of patient education.
In her free time, Dr. Pierce enjoys spending time with her husband, Dustin, and their two children, Dylan and Landon. She can often be found volunteering at her sons’ school or cheering on her kids at their sporting events.
Dr. Joe to our patients, is a life long native of Johnson County. Dr Joe opened his practice at Overland Park Eye Center in 1994 after many years of practicing in Kansas City, MO. He attended the University of Kansas for undergraduate work. In 1986 he graduated with a degree in Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, IL. He also maintains several certificates in lasik consultation, contact fitting, dry eye syndrome and other medical eye care. He is a current member of both the Kansas Optometric Association (KOA) and the American Optometric Association (AOA).
To keep current on all of the newest technology and research available Dr. Joe participates in continuing education classes all over the country each year. He applies these new techniques and treatments to his practice everyday to ensure his patients are getting the best possible care.
In his free time Dr. Joe enjoys spending time with his family and three children; Tyler, Scott, and Meghan. He is also an avid sports fan and enjoys catching games with friends. In addition Dr. Joe enjoys traveling and skiing with his family and friends.
